The decision was just made for me to be evaluated for a lung transplant at St. Louis Children's Hospital. I went through the evaluation process and ended up being a good candidate for lung transplantation. So I became listed in the spring of 1998 (7th grade). My stomach is working normally now...but I am on a full-liquid diet for about 10 more days. I return to transplant clinic next Wednesday for follow-up.

Overall it went pretty good. My lungs sounded good, lab values good, and PFT's about the same.The Lisinopril seems to be working pretty well for my blood pressure. I was wrong about not getting a day off from classes for the 4th holiday. I thought our professor had July 5th on our syllabus, but he didn't, and he verified in class on Wednesday, that Monday is indeed a university wide holiday...YAY. So that means an extra day at the lake. Briefly, here is a quick update: The surgery was successful and was able to be performed laproscopically. However, I am in a tremendous amount of pain and are taking pain meds around the clock.
