Update #2

I'm sitting here in the ACT room (see previous post about ACT) waiting on a bed. Yes, I am being admitted. Dr.Y thinks it's either just a virus or severe bronchitis. My chest xray was clear. I'm waiting on my lab results to get back. I've actually already gotten 2 IV abx (Tobra and Ceftaz) while waiting.

Our transplant (HTICU) floor is full and has been full all week. They are trying to work something out where i can stay on the floor, but it doesn't look too promising. I need EVERYONE to please please PRAY PRAY right now that they work something out. I HATE going off the unit, and have had so many problems being on other units!!!

It's weird that Dr. Y agreed to give me abx and admit me. I guess i looked really sick and i had a lot of other symptoms. He didn't want to test for the flu or anything else. He gave me 2 options: Go home on an oral abx, or come in for a few days on IV abx. I chose the iv abx..#1 because i seriously need immediate relief, and #2--hopefully with IV abx, I will feel MUCH better real soon and i can get back to my internship next Monday.

I'll update again either tonight or tomorrow. PLEASE BE PRAYING I CAN GET A ROOM ON HTICU!! Thanks for all of your comments and prayers! I have felt really really sick, and am glad to be getting some relief.

UPDATE: i just heard that they didn't get a bed. I'm going to the pulmonary floor where i was last time...bummer. I hate that unit. But really I just want to feel better so I guess I have to get over this! Maybe they will move me later on.

I read this after the update...bummer. I think you made a good call getting admitted, though. I hope you feel relief quickly. Love you!

Maybe they will have an opening while you are there & they can move you up to where you want to be. Praying for you!

I'm sorry that you didn't get into the tx unit. Did you at least get a private room? I know that is really important. Hope you don't pick up anything else and that you get extra good care!

Get better! I've prayed for you several times today.
